Real Property Appraiser
In Georgia to become an appraiser you are required to be a minimum of 18 years old, have a high school degree or the equivalent and sucessfully complete a 90 hour mandated course. That's it. You do not need a state exam.
There are 4 levels of classification: Registered, Licensed, Certified Residential and Certified General.
You can remain a registered appraiser for your entire career or elevate and expand your opportunities. Some individuals who work in tax offices, Department of Transportation, Department of Revenue, large mortgage divisions for banks and financial firms never bother to go beyond registered.
Entrepreneurs will generally seek to advance to a higher level for maximum flexibility and opportunities.
